What a fucking shithouse result. If this was an international election, Kerry would have romped it home. So many Americans r just so fucking egocentric. In particular, i wanna question the state of the christian evangelical movement in America. They vote for Bush becos he is anti-abortion and anti-gay marriage-so called 'values'. What is so evangelical about supporting a man who supports the death penalty, goes to war for the wrong reasons and kills thousands of innocent people in the process? They really need to have a good look at themselves and get their priorities right. A majority of Americans have voted based on their fears, not their aspirations and hopes for the future. Theyve managed to further piss off the rest of the world and polarise themselves even more.
There's my rant. What do other people think?

i dont know if this is true but i heard from my grandad in sth africa ( a very reliable source i know) taht bush now wants 2 invade syria going after their so called "weapons of mass destruction" and the fact that they are "harbouring terrorists" even though the CIA made these exact statements about IRAQ which they made up is so fucking stupid. They cannot even control what is going on in Iraq with i dont even know how many soliders and civillians dying every day which the news only reports very briefly all these peopel who are dying just become statistics and no one gives them a second thought. ALso has everyone forgoten about a country called Afganistan after they bombed that place into oblivion now we hear nothing about it. anyway i'm finished now so tahnk you for listening

i was very very disappointed with the result... after hearing on entertainment tonight everyday all the celebrities backing kerry (and, let's face it, americans love hollywood). But, the truth of the matter is, americans may have technology, but they're fucking backwards in their thinking. Gay people exist, they can't pretend they don't, drug fucked women shouldn't have to bring a kid into the world that's going to suffer the same addiction, and die short after. I just don't understand how ANYONE could think george w. bush should be the president of (the world) USA for another 4 years. Gah. I saw mark latham on the news last night saying a congratulations to Georgie boy, saying how it's going to be good for strengthening the Australian alliance. Gah. Fuck that shit.

The FTA Will Kill Us.
Punkvoter Have Stated That There Was A Massive Increase In The Youth Vote Which Is Some Sort Of Positive.
But People Are To Scared Of Change Both Here And The US.
I Think Kerry Was A Good Candidate. But Bush Like Howard Uses Lies And Scare Tacticts.
And People Fall For It.

First and foremost, although it does affect us, it wasn't our election, so I don't thinka ll the coverage we had to endure was warranted, I think they gave more airtime to that election than they did to ours. I don't really care how much their country goes down the tube, they have got themselves into shit from day one, never doing anything right, considering consequences or other countries. America always seem to come in at the last minute and fuck everything up, after trying to set up things using the CIA so they would work their way in the first place, it's little wonder people hate the American government and establishment so much. Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with the American people, I have no beef with them whatsoever. I do feel very sorry for them having to bear the burden and stigmata that their country has, but there isn't much I can do about that.
The problem with voting is, it's not enforced, or rather compulsary, sure there may have been an increase in young voters this time around, but even one in a large increase on none. When all the right wing christian fanatic nutjobs get together and convince their bretheren that they must vote for Bush and help him secure a second term, theres not much that any one can do about it, you've got teh support from all the rich, now you have a great majority of people who were probably voting already and all their minions.
War is easily justified, a lot of people remember september 11, that can be used as a real powerful tool, if we had been hit with an incident like that, and we had a war hungry power monger running the country, I'm sure the masses would have been all for a full scale invasion of some country 90% of us had never heard of. Or knew where it was.
Right wing christians don't care about war, The Crusades was a holy war, (some of) the Catholic Church supported it. That was some nice ethnic cleansing going on there not many saw a problem with that. Granted time were different, but I feel you understand my point. Stopping a man from marrying a man and having a child, or a teenager who goes out and makes a mistake having an abortion is a lot more important to these people than not cleansing the world and spreading the word of their God.
Bush had a list of four countries that he wished to invade to stop global terrorism, he only managed two in his term, so the second two will probably come this time around, but God only knows where he is going to draw his funding from, I don't think that fucker even has money for a war. It's funny, World War Two, and the American's joining so late, is one of the only reasons they are such a economic power these days. By the time they started taking casualties, the rest of the world had been at it for years, and has spent so much time rebuiling their bank accounts so to say. The Japanese did it the right way, bounced right back. But I'll leave that for another rant.
He'd probably like to invade Libya as well, but I think after the resolution talks that have been going on with Tony Blair and Gadaffi the British don't look likely to support that. You can't control urban terrorism, The soldiers in Iraq aren't really prepared for what they face, just like the Soldiers in Vietnam were not prepared for what they faced. We've still got Peacekeeping forces overseas, but you never hear anything about them, it's nothing out of the ordinary.
It's pretty much impossible to not get a second term in the US, I think from memory there are only two people in more recent times that haven't secured one. Gerald Ford, and George Bush Senior.
I don't think my brains settled back into my head yet.
