heya...
im just looking for an opinion....
im gettin a new guitar amp soon.. and i was wondering if any of u have any ideas..... i was thinkin of a marshall mode four....... and thats pretty much the top of my price range as i need a new guitar aswell... coz me fender has a screwed neck....
sooooo any other kewl amps for bout the same price range ( or cheaper)...... or any reasons y i shuldnt get the mode four would be heaps appreciated....
mom's lookin to spend no more then $3700 on the amp...... and also any ideas on a good guitar for like 500-600 dollars...
i play alot of punk.. and hardcore stuff...( poison the well, said girl, four times, box car- that sorta thing)

personally i think the marshall JCM 800 is a great amp. Ive never played one but if its anything like the amp that is modelled on my Line 6 Flextone its a fucking amazing amp. I use the JCM's amp as the basis for my bands distortion. It sounds incredible

get a mode 4 or a marshall triple super lead. heaps better than a jcm 800.

yeh i suggest an amp modelling one like a line 6 or some fenders and shit. You can make a lot of great sounds if you spend enough time twiddling. You also have a wide range of amps to your disposal. Many people say you will never get the same kind of sound but thats not always a bad thing. Helps you have a distinct sound.

with 3700 ure possibilitys are endless.
if u want lots of heavy. PEAVEY 5150. heavy as fuck. Awsome amps. Pretty good clean sound too. FULL ON DISTORTION. head and quad for 3000.
Mesa Boogie rectifier. With 3700. Ud prolly only get single rectifier with marshall quad. still a mega awsome rig. Ure paying for quality in mesa and thats wot ull get.
any marshall jcm. all good for punk/HC. 900's and 2000's have 2 channels though. but 800s have a better tone, probly not that noticable in punk though. u can pick a 900 up 2nd hand for 700.
mode fours suuuuuuuck a lot. ive read bad reviews and heard bad sounds come from them. grossy gross valvestate. valve amps all the way thank you.
it also depends on what guitar u want too. if ure gonna get a fender, allow for a heavier pickup in it. I think stock fender tend to sound flimsy and weak in punk/HC. Your prolly also better off spending more on a guitar and a little less on amp too. A good epiphone with good pickup would be a good starting point. Maybe LTD too, those things are rad.
thats just my opinions though.
as optimus said, try everything out. Your preferance is really what it comes down too.
