im sorry to tell you this... but all those shitty bands are not punk, they might say they are but there not. its emo pop shit. you should listen to the local pricks magoos or mickeyflash. there good perth punk bands.
anyone who likes emo pop and wheres the anarchy symbol should hang there head down in shame. do they think that there some type of anarchist? "oh im so anarchy i told my teacher to fuck off" winge on and complain about highschool.

why do people try to act all high and mighty along the chain of punk? i mean simba and that mickeyflashrock kid are all "uhhh nah pop punk is shit man it shouldnt be called punk" fair enuff, but you dont need to put people down by saying it. who gives a fuck. youre the one putting ftj and lyh into these pigeonholes of "pop-punk" and "emo-pop" (whatever the hell that is) ive spoken to every band around perth many MANY times and not once have i heard any of them stand up and go "hey we're a pop-punk band" or "were an emo-pop band" or "were a violin-harpsicord cream-cheeese core band" its just bullshit.
you can complain about it all you want, but its the truth.
and simba, stop baggin everyone. youre exactly the same as everyone else, you have no right to make yourself sound mightier than anyone. four times jimmy have their merit, they pull a crowd.
mickey flash have their merit, theyre doing what they love with the whole true punk thing, its gold.
fight each other all you want, but hurry up and realise it doesnt do fuck all.

i can see your point. it is the truth and in many ways i agree. but what i hate is the little "punk rock" girls that say oh i love the sex pistols, but then dont no shit about them. the only bands they can name is sex pistols dk and the damned. its pretty poor.

no. its fucked whe people think that the sex pistols were "the punk band" when theyre just as manufactured as britney spears.
before sid came into the band they were nobodies and sid gave them this dirty "punk" look coz he was a smackhead and thus everyone thought he was cool coz he was punk. he was just a fucking addict. and a shit bass player.
i cant begin to spill my frustrations about the sex pistols and punk because it just shits me and puts me in a worse mood than im always in.

even though local bands are classified as pop punk , emo, blah blah... whatever, they are just doing what they want and are out there for the minority who want to listen to them. we should support the local music whether its more pop than most punk bands, in the end its all music. Punk has evolved, like it or not, but what is now is the new punk.

true.
the best local bands are change of face and falling short.
hands down, because they are the best professional sounding, playing, and looking bands live and otherwise.
last years hero follow closely, but only because i dont like their stereotypical pop-punk sellout image they portray to everyone.
