i think bhoy got it right, its like saying all australians are beer drinking blue collar barbie eating yobos. i personally dont beleive in it, but im pro choice so each to their own. if people want to beleive in god thats totally fine by me as long as im not personally affected by it, like them forcing me to abide by their rules (ie anti abortion/ anti gay marriage bullshit like that). Im still undecided whether there is a higher being. i dont really think so but i mean there has to be something more than this right? something out there more than this.
I think your friend and you gunk need to be more understanding of the others beleifs. I mean, who cares if shes religious if your really a mate youd understand that thats what they want to do and vice versa, hell some of the nicest people i know are devot christians.

I Dont Believe In It , And Prefer To Debate It At All.
But I Will Say That In My Opinion All Religious Followings Are Like Cults. As Much As These Muslim Terrorist Style Religious Fundimentalists Are Seen As Weirdo's And Cultists , Apart From The Whole War Thing Which Lets Forget About For The Sake Of What Im Saying , Whats The Difference Really Between A Muslim And A Christian. In My Book There All The Same , There All Weird And Have Cultish Style Followings they All read From A Simmilar text And Follow A Set Of Strict Rules. Sure they Differ But The Muslims Just Are Doing What They Believe In Just Like Christians Except there Views Are Slightly Different But Still In All The Same. So How Can We Place The Blame On Them When Our Ways Are Simmilar , To Be Its Being Contradictive And Dont get Me Started On Preists And There Dirty Little Ways.
See What A Ramble , Proberbly Didnt Make Sense But It Does To Me.
This Is Why I Choose Not To Debate It And Why I Hate It , This Is My First And Final Post On The Matter.

The muslims you see portrayed in the media and so forth, aren't true Muslims, they have bastardized a religion for their own cause much like the Crusaders did in the.. 1300s was it... Islam is a religion of peace, the Koran is very similar to the Bible, there are just a few that spoil it for the many, claiming to do what they do in the name of Allah.
And come on, not all priests are dirty. It's a load of shit. I'm sick of people painting priests as dirty men, slagging religion, and all that. I'm not saying they should all respect and fear God, I'm just saying, how about a bit of tolerance and respect? These people tell us we should accept our multicultural brothers and sisters and then tell us how evil religion is and how we should shun it.
Whiskey time.

i have no problem with religion at all. i'm not the slightest bit religious myself, but i think it can provide a lot of stability for people. i think, when religion is understood properly and utilised properly, it can be a great positive force in the world, for those people who need or want something to believe in. all i disagree with is door-knockers, or like gunk was saying, people who corner you and try and pound it down your throat. but that's only a few people that do that, and that's down to individuals, not religion itself. people should be content with themselves, and be happy for other people who are content with themselves, and so long as that's going on and nobody's hurting anyone, what should it matter what other people believe? i also disagree with certain religious types who try to blame their weaknesses and failings on their god, and by the same token can't accept their strengths and successes as their own, no matter how hard they have worked for them, but that's a whole other story. i guess i just don't understand that, and it's not hurting anyone i guess... but for only a small amount of bad, there's a hell of a lot of good can come out of religion. but like i said, it's only gonna work for the people who really want it to work for them, and there is no point forcing it onto someone who isn't interested. luckily only a small percentage of religious people are like that though, and that's what we need to remember. one person does not speak for everyone in their religion.

Followers of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, have to either get married and make little LDS babies or promote their religion and try and get people to join them, It's part of their beliefs, Catholics are also supposed to promote their religion, mainly though by interacting with the community and doing things for them, not so much door knocking.

I know its been a while but I can't not say my bit. I am christian as a matter of fact I'm Catholic and I have just sat here and read through everythng that has been said. Why have a go at any religion? Why even comment on it. Religion is a personal thing. What we believe in is our own thing and no one else's. Why must people attack religious people? Why are you saying that us Christians are bad and naive? How would you know? Yeah sure some can be but that has nothing to do with religion. Everyone can be naive. Hey if you look back through what you've posted Gunk you will see that you too have been naive. I'm not gonna sit here and try and convince you that christianity is the best religion because I can't weven make myself believe that or that any religion is better. I was born into a religious family. My mum's catholic and my dad's anglican. My brother is now atheiest and my two little sisters are too young to know what they are but are quiet fasinated by christianity. Although my mum and me are catholic we're not going to force my little sisters to be. They can be what they want to be. If I chose to be another religion my catholic mother and my anglican father would have no problem with that. Not all religious people are the same. On the hand of being gay or bi. Just because I'm Ctholic doesn't mean that I'm against it. Sure the bible teaches not to be gay or bi but where does it say that we cannot accept people for being gay or bi. (I personally have nothing agaianst them). About being happy... What makes you say that religion has anything to do with not being happy. I hate life... doesn't have anything to do with religion at all. Its the people of this world that make me unhappy. My religion has never ever come into it. I used to go to church but no longer do due to personal unrelated reasons. I was baptised and did my holy communion but it didn't change who I was and weather I was happy or not or how religious I was. I'm not gonna say to anyone oi you should be christian or anything like that. Most people don't even realise that I'm catholic and are actually quiet shocked to find out that I am. Don't be so naive. If you got a problem with one Christian friend don't think of the rest of us like that. That's like one dog bitting a child so therefore all dogs are going to bite children. It doesn't work like that. There are plenty of friendly dogs out there just as there are Christians (Sorry about the dog comparison... there was a dog barking outside when I wrote that). Just try to be more open minded. Religion doesn't make us who we are. It may make part of who we are but so do a lot of other things such as our family, friends, school, environment. Really the truth is everyone just needs to be more accepting, a lot nicer and less bitchy.

lol as usual oppions turning into a brawl of opinions.
anyway about religion i am technicaly a catholic, i do not believe in it anymore, to me its all lies. the church has been corupt since the day it was born and all the bible stories seem to be written by people who were heavy acid users, lose descriptions n all that.
i could go on for days about all the fucked up shit that the church has done, heres a good 1: the crusades.
anyway feel free to rebut me i love hearing other peoples ideas about religion
the only religion for me is bad religion.. unless any of u have a sex cult going
