No.
Not all terrorists are the same, in some cases the oppressors are the greater of two evils, freedom fighters can be considered terrorists in some places, those striving to get better conditions for their people. It really depends who's point of view you take.
Do either of you know the full story behind why the terrorists were in there?
I'm not condoning their behavior in anyway, I just don't think narrow minded views achieve much.

I think that the reason why they did it to children/ a school was that they knew it would get a bigger reaction, cause you know, no one likes it when children are slaughtered. It certainly worked. It is fucking evil, but then again the Chechen people obviously want freedom or whatever.

however i dont think terrorism is the right way to get across your point ,especially with things like what happened in russian and 9/11. Then again the terrorists themselves most probably think that they are being forced to do what they do. it all depends on where your coming from, terrorism is a grey area to anyone who isnt involved.
a politics board would be cool methinks, alsong as there is no 'your ideas are wrong STFU' comments

yeh i agree with u all too.
the reason they were in there is they want chechnia (i think thats what is called) to be seperate from russia.
this fight has been going on for ages and this new thing has just brought it to the front of the media thus creating world wide knowlage and creating pressure for the russian govt.
thats what scares me smart terrorism... its sad the world we live in, people have to kill children just to be heard...
and no i am not saying that this was the right way to go about getting what they want at all, these people were fucked up extremeists and i think they deserve to be short in painful places for every kid they killed and i would love to do it myself.

You're all close, but you missed a few things. Although they probably were Checens, they were also protesting about the law in that has just been introduced in France which outlaws the wearing of head dresses by female students. It also outlaws the wearing of religious pendents/charms/symbols, it's to do with the public schools. Alot of Checens are Muslim you see  I personally don't see a problem with this law, but I won't get started on the ins and outs. The Checens and Russians have been fighting for a long time, and it's been in the news/papers for a long time too, you're just watching the wrong news and reading the wrong papers if you don't know about it. What would you do if a country was constantly invading your borders? Killing your men, raping your women anc children and destroying your homsteads? Chances are you'd be a terrorist too. |

i never said i agreed or disagreed with it... i know terrorism shouldnt have to be the answer.. but in todays time it seems to be the main way.

something went wrong with the booby traps and they fell from the roof causing the explosion, apparantly, so it wasnt completely there fault and as soon as the explosion went off the soldiers outside just opened fire and people just ran into the school letting the terrorists run free. so sounds like poor organisation from both parts.

Although from reading this board theres some people who really know there stuff. So i dont mind either way. I have pretty limited knowledge about politics but will chip in my two cents where i can. |

im sure the pollitics board would be fun... u see it seems we all knew parts of the story, i didnt know about the head dresses etc and thnx for telling me that.
see we could discuss about things like this, more a current issues i think would be better than calling it a "pollitics" board, it sounds a lil less cliche dont ya rekon?
