Fuck value, I want sumthing which sounds good. I've listened to it and I must admit it isnt that great. I wouldve expected sumthing a little better considering the wealth of talent in the punk scene. Having said this, it aint bad, it just aint that good unfortunately. Sound quality could be better, but thats not the bands' fault. Its just that recording is so fucking expeno's.

i cant comment on this, because ive only heard it twice, but id go as far as to say its probably shit. as much as a like half of the bands on there, id have to say their recordings are shit, and although there are that many bad recordings so that it lowers the level of quality overall therefore maintaining a level of sussness, you can still pick the decent bands out pretty damn easily. namely change of face or last years hero.

Ok here's my challenge to you, go find a local punk/hc compilation that is better. I don't think you can really say it unmixed and unedited demos, becuase I know for a fact atleast one of those tracks came off an EP. For $7 you go out and find better value. Don't shit all over something unless you can provide a better alternative, and I'm not talking about a CD full of tracks full of songs from bands that sound the same, that had a variation, I'd go as far to say as I enjoyed the whole CD. And I'm not a big fan of the majority of those bands on that CD. how about this, i wont go and find a better punk/hc compilation because if there's one thing i hate more than wasting my money it's wasting it twice. id rather spend $30 on a mixed, mastered, and edited cd. im not having a go at any of the bands or the songs, in fact there are some very good songs on it, i just think that many of the songs are just demo quality and simply shouldn't have been released. im sure that some of the bands on the cd have been misrepresented by average quality recordings, but for $7 what do you want?!

Another great CD to add to the collection, the Jackon self-titled EP, not exactlly what I would normally listen to, but a change is as good as a holiday or so they tell me, I was pretty impressed the first time I heard this, and it never ceases to get my feet tapping on each subsequent play.
As I said I don't usually listen to this kinda stuff, so I'm stumped as how to sum it up, so I'll just unload a little spiel I came across on the web for the EP.
Jackson is a new band featuring Chris Shiflett (Foo Fighters) on guitar and vocals, Scott Shiflett (Face To Face) on bass and Pete Parada (Face To Face and Saves The Day) on drums. Musically they're not exactly punk, not exactly rock & roll, and not exactly pop but somewhere in the middle of all of them. Their debut five song EP is a little sample of their hi-energy music. The full length is going to be released by the end of the 2003 year.
Seriously check this out, it's really worth it.

I'm assuming a) it's already out, or b) it's coming soon over here, I think the info I came across was a little out of date.

i bought john butler trio - sunrise over sea, i dont know if any one on here is into that kind of music but i thought it was a good effort, and im glad that all the songs dont sound like zebra, i like alot of the slower songs on the album and the use of banjo on a few of the tracks. I think this album is alot more about his life at the moment rather than alot of anti government, save the trees kind of stuff, which doesnt bother me. I like it anyway.
