Alright folks, this CD is definately a must have, Murder City Devils - In name and Blood
It's hard to limit this band to a single genre and give them justice at the same time, for the sake of settling, I'll go with Farfisa driven gloomy bluesy punk rock. Variety is afterall, the spice of life.
If you need some samplers to make your mind up -
Press Gang Someone Else's Baby Bunkhouse

ok in the last 3 weeks ive bought 14 cds, of these 13 of these have been great, the only one i have doubts about is snuff i got the the third song and it jsut sounded like monotonous pop punk so i turned it off.
the ones i suggest are: Bad Religion - Tested Bad Religion - All Ages Bad Religion - The Process of Beleif Dead Kennedys - Plastic Surgery Disasters Dead Kennedys - Give me Convinience or give me Death Sublime - 40 oz To Freedom Anti-Flag - The Terror State The Exploited - Singles Nofx/Rancid - BYO Split Nofx - I Heard They Suck Live Dropkick Murphys - Live on St Patrick Day Dropkick Murphys - The Gangs All Here Behind the 8 Ball - A new Love for Summer
I might have to give the snuff cd another listen because what i have from the on mp3 is prety damn good but the songs i heard on the cd were dodge as.

Live on St. Patricks Day is a corker of an album, couldn't stop listening to it when I got my hands on it, and nor could the rest of the neighbourhood, whether they wanted to or not. But then again I do that with most of the albums I buy.

whats with so many people liking the whole irish folk-punk stuff? im from scotland, and i hear that stuff all the time. it just doesnt appeal when you see 80 year old men singing the same sort of songs.
i mean, its cool that kids are into it, but i think a vast majority dont know what it's about.
oh yeah...does anyone know who wrote that song "whiskey in the jar" ? its been buggin me.

Scott, I grew up with that kinda stuff as well, that's why it appealed to me, it;s the same deal with pipe music, I can't get enough of the stuff. I don't see a problem with multiple generations enjoying the same tunes, that's comradery.
And as for whiskey in the jar, try The Pouges or The Dubliners.
On a re-check, it's appears it may have been Thin Lizzy.
