Johnny Cash - American IV: The Man Comes Around
Haven't hada chance to listen to the whole CD yet, cause some one nicked off with it, but from what I heard so far, it's fucking awesome. Few covers thrown in to the mix. I'd have to say his cover of NIN - Hurt is one of the most haunting, and impressive renditions I have heard in a long time.
Shaun Of The Dead - OST
Pretty tops album there too, bit of ska, electro, and some alternative... what ever the fuck that is these days. And a few sound byte from the movie, worth every penny just for them. If you haven't seen it yet, fucking do so!
The Hives - Tyrannosauras Hives
This album, unlike their earlier, garage/thrashy rock/punk material, has a more robotic feel to it, with repetitive guitar riffs, and addictive toe tapping drum loops, it encourages zombie stompin. The fairly simple lyrics push further for the trance like state you'll enjoy this album in.
Against Me! - Live Acoustic
Pretty disappointed, too much crowd noise in the mix, too many idiots talking over the music, shame, cause it really spoils it. Some people think his voice grates on you, but I think it's got a real dirty old pub sound to it, and I like it. Aside from that, the albums pretty good, more of a relaxed feel being Acoustic and all.
The Hives - Barely Legal
Like I said earlier, it's got more of a garage rock band feel to it, althought the repetive guitars are still there, they are not as prominent, there's a bit mroe rythym thrown about. The lyrics are still pretty basic, a less produced sound than their later stuff though, something you're more likely to jump around to rather than stomp. Well, except for the song aptly titled Stomp, which has a great beat to it. In my opinion, more of a Rock and Roll than a Punk album.
Tiger Army - III Ghost Tigers Rise
Ain't listened to this the whole way through, only parts of it, which probably isn't the best way to go about it, but I'm not super impressed, I liked their previoous work, but this almost seems like a rehash, maybe a 'throw out what we've done before cause the kids like it then they'll love it now' kinda effort, I could be being really harsh, and I probably am, my opinion will probably change once I've listend to it some more. Okay, did a relisten, on a rethink, it's reminding me of long lonely desert drives, sitting in bars in the middle of nowhere, in low populated towns, drinking cheap nasty bourbon with barflys, for some reason, it seems to bring with it, thoughts and feeling of misery and desperation, loss and sadness.... but that could just be cause I have been listening to a lot of Ska lately. Could do with a few more slappin solos.
Dogs Die In Hot Cars - Please Describe Yourself
Think, something along the lines of Madness meets the Cure. Another Glasweigen Indie band, synth driven album, with a pretty bouncy beat to it, a kinda darker ska feeling. The lyrics don't seem to deep when listening, after reading them though, they are a little twisted. A great sounding album, that will work for drinking to, or dancing up your living room walls.
And I might leave it at that for now.

oi brendan, i get what you're saying about the Tiger Army album... there's something lacking from Nick's voice, in my opinion, it's a whole lot more faded. This is going to sound stupid, but maybe it's the lacking of back ups? I dunno, i'll have to check it. I love the album, but i love the band too much. ^_^ It's a more sort of background music album than the others, that's for sure. When i first ever heard nick's voice i got chills, not really with this album though.
I wonder what direction he's going to take with a new line up?

Rammstein - Reise ReiseI don't care what anyone says about me for liking these boys, I have for a long time and will continue to do so. Don't judge this album by the single that got the most airplay ( Amerika) It's a lot more powerful than that. Keine Lust has a very Pink Floyd Intro, it's got the token slower almost balads a la Seeman from the Herzeleid album, most of the album is in German, which is brilliant, the German langiage has a real commanding feeling about it, all powerful, and very raw. English does not do Rammstein songs justice.
Oh, and the chanting is back

Greenday - American Idiot
Not sure if I like it or not yet, it's not bad but it's not brilliant, some funny little one liners in the songs.

Today i bought the Standard Deviants EP. Of course it's good.
It came with a free promotional cd... which is largely full of crap, but there's a few decent band names. But heh, it was free!
I also saw the ZX Specky cd in 78's, but i didn't buy it, with xmas coming up and all, but, ugh. I should have bought it.
